Art Bar - One Week Painting
I had the privilege to be a part of the Art Bar's one week painting series. This is the outcome. It is a piece about the personal sacrifice we all need to make to protect and preserve our environment... I feel it is very important for each of us to do what we can to preserve as much as we can for the future generation to follow us all. The one week painting is up for a week, and then the next artist paints over the top of the painting. At the end there are 52 paintings on one canvas, and the Art Bar has a show to display photographs of all 52 paintings.
This photo was also part of a test roll through my newest camera, a Canon EOS 3 loaded with expired Fuji Superia (02-2006). I like the camera very much, and I seem to still have my addiction to buying old film cameras. There is still something about film that I can't shake...
Here is another shot from the test roll:

Mandy and Rob
About a month ago a mutual friend of my wife and mine got married. I wanted to do something special for them as a wedding gift, so I shot their wedding for them. Here are a few of my favorite shots of the day:

Thank you to all who made it out to see our show at the Brewed Cafe. It was a lot of fun and I got to talk to a lot of new and old faces. If you didn't get a chance the show will be up for another week or so... So go check it out.
Here are a few photos from the night.

I have opened an online store that will feature 5 photographic prints and/or design posters. Each month 5 prints and/or posters will be available for purchase in a limited edition. Each print or poster will be signed and numbered in an edition size of about 200. The prints or posters will be available until the edition is sold out, or until the following month when new work will be available.

Tree Stump #2
I revisited this stump a few times. It seems like each time it is a bit more uncovered and visible. Soon I am sure it will wash away.
Possible inclusion for the July show. Right now the theme I am working with is Milwaukee Pinscapes. Pinhole photographs of the lake, and parts of Milwaukee that interest me. Nothing to specific, but it is sometimes fun to have a wide working theme, sometimes mini themes will come from them... I have a couple ideas already. My hope is to start a more focused project after the July show.

Next Show | Brewed Cafe | Anodyne | Brady St
The Cream City Photogs will be having their next show in July at the Brewed Cafe on Brady St. The Brewed Cafe is also known to some as Anodyne Coffee.
I have put a lot of thought into this show, and what I will be showing. Currently I do not know, as I have been shooting things daily with this show in mind. One of the major things I am thinking about is the space. It is kind of a laid back, informal, kind of trendy hipster coffee house. So I have decided to choose some pinhole photographs, as I have been loving the pinholes and I think they would fit in well in the space.
Now back to shooting, I need to get going here.

Cream City Photogs Afterparty
The Cream City Photogs Shutterbugs show went pretty well. The opening night was fun, and the photos looked fantastic. It was great to have another show, where everything looked good. The Photogs are resting, and thinking of what comes next. We are always looking for a new venue to share are artwork with, so if you know of anyone, drop me a line and let me know.
I did sell a print of the photo below after the show...

Cream City Photogs Next Show
The Cream City Photogs (www.creamcityphotogs.com/) have an upcoming show this February at the Art Bar in Riverwest. Come visit, take a look at some new photographs made by the group, and stay for some drinks and discussion with us. Most of the group should be there, I know I am going to be there all night. I look forward to seeing anyone who can make it out.

Introduction
Hello,
I have been meaning to start a blog for some time now, but never quite got around to it, until now. I hope to post relevant stuff here, some things may be about me and my life while others may just be cool things that I find in the world of Design, Photography and Art. Throughout you will most likely find a lot of images created by me.
If you end up seeing an image you like, most of them will be for sale, just give me a shout and I can get a print done for you. If you like some of the stuff you see here you might also check out my flickr site: http://flickr.com/photos/jake_rohde/
Another site you may like might be the site of a group of local photographers I am a part of called the "Cream City Photogs". The site is located here: http://www.creamcityphotogs.com/
